Patient Tablet Acceptable Use Policy

Patient Tablet Acceptable Use Policy

In order to bring this program to market, Continuud became a Verizon Wireless Preferred Partner. This relationship with Verizon allows us to offer affordable, cellular-powered devices to healthcare organizations to help you retain your consumers in care. In order to maintain the terms of our partnership with Verizon, we must ensure that the devices that we are distributing to your organization are designed for healthcare use and are not used in a way that would compete with Verizon Wireless' consumer products. Each function of the device must tie back to the program's goal of improving health outcomes.
We must limit access to applications and platforms whose primary purpose is categorized as entertainment or social media. The only exceptions to this policy are platforms whose primary function also includes healthcare. For example, myHIVteam: a social network for people living with HIV.
The following activities are not permitted when using tablets provided by Continuud and powered by Verizon:
  1. Accessing adult or mature content of any kind.
  2. Accessing video or audio streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Apple Music, and other entertainment platforms.
  3. Using the system for any illegal purpose.
  4. Logging into someone else’s account without permission.
  5. Downloading or using copyrighted information without permission from the copyright holder.
  6. Using a proxy bypass site.
  7. Gaining unauthorized access to restricted information or resources.
  8. Installing third-party applications to the device not previously approved by Continuud.
  9. Accessing social networking sites that are not healthcare-related. Examples of unauthorized sites include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social platforms.
  10. Disabling, bypassing, or attempting to disable any security or internet filtering service.
  11. Purposefully taking, disseminating, transferring, or sharing abusive, obscene lewd, sexually-oriented, threatening, harassing, damaging to another’s reputation, or otherwise illegal images or photographs, which includes cyberbullying and sexting.
  12. Posting messages, accessing or possessing materials that are abusive, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, damaging to another’s reputation, or otherwise illegal.
  13. Tampering with the device’s network connection or SIM card. Attempting to remove the device SIM card will result in device lockdown and will require the device to be returned for service.
Any instance of unacceptable use may result in immediate suspension or permanent disconnect of the device's cellular network service. If Continuud detects instances of unacceptable use, we will inform your organization of the device in violation and the nature of the activity. Continuud reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate a device's cellular network service in order to enforce the acceptable use policy. Repeated violations will result in termination of service.
Verizon may immediately suspend or permanently terminate a device's cellular network service upon detection of activity that violates their acceptable use policy. Continuud will have no recourse against these actions.
If you have any questions about the acceptable use policy, please contact us by sending an email to support@continuud.com.
