Setting Up The NordVPN Application

Setting Up The NordVPN Application

Once you have installed NordVPN, follow these instructions to configure your application.

The NordVPN setup process is quick and easy, and will ensure that your web activity at work is safe and secure.

First-Time Configuration

Open the NordVPN Application on your computer by opening your start menu and searching for "NordVPN". Click on NordVPN Teams to launch the application.

When the application opens, hover over the NordVPN icon in your windows taskbar:

Right click on the icon and select Pin to taskbar

This will pin the application to your taskbar so you can easily launch it at any time.

Organization ID

In order to sign into the NordVPN application, you must first enter your Organization ID. This ID was included in the NordVPN invitation email that you received. Please reference that email. If you need help locating your Organization ID, click on the Help button in the bottom right corner of this screen to chat with our team and we will be happy to locate that for you.

Enter your Organization ID on the first screen and click the right arrow to proceed.

NordVPN Account

You should have received an email with instructions for creating a NordVPN account. If you haven't created that account yet, please take a moment to do that now. To locate the email, search your email inbox for the phrase "NordVPN".

Sign into your NordVPN account on the next screen:

If you need to reset your password, click on the Reset it here link below the sign-in form.

Connecting To A Server

Once you sign-in, the application will minimize and become an icon in your task tray on the bottom right corner of your screen:

Click on the icon to launch your Connection Settings. Select Settings from the panel.

On the General tab, make sure all 4 boxes are checked, as shown below:

On the Auto-connect tab, make sure both checkboxes are checked, and United States is selected from the Auto-connect to dropdown list, as shown below:

Still on the Auto-connect tab, it's important that you DO NOT click the Add to trusted button, as this will prevent the application from automatically connecting to a VPN server when using your home or office wi-fi.

That's it! You can click the X close button in the top right corner of the window. Your NordVPN client is fully configured and will automatically connect each time your computer starts.

Having trouble accessing a website or application?

In rare instances, you might have trouble accessing a website or application when NordVPN is connected. Please use the Help button in the bottom right corner to chat with our team for support.
